Kevin L. Bowers

Kevin L. Bowers, 60, of Ithaca, NY,  died September 22, 2020 at his home. He was born in Martinsburg, WV, son of the late Kenneth and Eleanor Stanley Bowers and had currently been employed as a cook at Mix Kitchen & Bar.

Kevin Lee Bowers was born on April 1, 1960, in Martinsburg, WVA.  As a young boy, he and his family moved to Lansing, NY.  He graduated from Lansing High School in 1978.  In 1982, he graduated from the International Hotel and Restaurant Institute.   Kevin worked most of his life in the restaurant industry as a cook, bartender, and manager.  He helped run the Boxcar Restaurant for 13 years and was part of the opening team for the local Applebees.  Kevin moved to Destin, Fl for about six years working in hospitality down there before moving back to Ithaca where he lived with his brother, sister-in-law, and two nieces. Most recently, he worked at Mahogany Bar and Grill and Mix Restaurant.  Kevin was known for his infectious laugh and sense of humor.  He was constantly cracking jokes and making up silly sayings.   Kevin was a very kind-hearted person who would give the shirt off his back if someone needed it.   He loved to spend his free time playing guitar, drawing, riding motorcycles, and listening to music.  Kevin died suddenly of a heart attack on September 22nd, 2020.  He will be sorely missed by friends and family.
