Helen I Whitman of Ithaca, NY passed away November 15 at Cayuga Ridge Nursing Home at the age of 98.Helen was born August 21, 1921 in Cortland, NY, daughter of the late Frederick Barto and Ina (Woodin) Barto Romero. She is predeceased by her husband Robert Schmidt and her husband of 48 years Rex G. Whitman. She is survived by her children Shirley (Schmidt) Burun, Robert (Rosemary) Schmidt, Martin (Patricia) Schmidt, Nancy Whitman(Thomas) Perry and Carol Whitman (Daniel) Webster, 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
She loved collecting antiques, helping others while working for Visiting Nurse Service and spending time with her family. She will be truly missed. A memorial will be held at a later date.
