Yianni G. Vlahos 21, of Ithaca, NY left us unexpectedly on August 18, 2022
Yianni was our center from the beginning whether it was because of his numerous trips to the emergency room for odd accidents or aliments or by getting us all together to watch him play Basketball or Football from elementary school thru high school or to fill the house with the booming sounds of his Gaming where he met many friends from around the world. Yianni was an adventurous soul who after graduating Ithaca High School in 2020 flew the coup and landed in Utah where he discovered much happiness and success. He found great serenity in the landscapes of Utah and was of course excited to be able to visit a few of the surrounding areas. He said the best place he visited was Las Vegas ONLY because he got to eat at Gordon Ramsey's Hell's Kitchen where he said "he had the best meal of his life!". The culinary masters in our family are still reeling from that declaration.
Nothing made Yianni happier than surprising his Mom-Ioanna/Nana Vlahos in anyway he could and making up creative and new excuses for not washing the dishes and/or cleaning up his room, doing anything and everything like plotting pranks, cooking, watching movies, going outside to play or simply being with his siblings Anthos Vlahos and Feleah Vlahos whom he loved and protected more than anyone in the universe, he loved hearing stories about his Yiayia-Petroula Vlahos upbringing in Greece and eating her Kourembethes and home made Greek Fries (no they weren't French Fries they were Greek), he loved spending time at his Aunt Paula "Loola" Decker house eating home made Ham and playing board games, Disc Golf, video games and just making up games with his cousin Alex Decker, he loved debating and being sarcastic and having deep conversations with his Aunt Martha "Dooda" Vlahos and he loved visiting his Uncle Billy, Aunt Cheryl and cousin Yianni B {Sierra Santiago} Vlahos in the summer going to amusement parks, swimming, fireworks and again pulling pranks, Yianni also loved spending time with his closest friends Noah Harrington-Tenney, Jaden Wright and Mikey Nelson among other friends. But most of all Yianni loved to make us all contemplate the meaning of life & wonder, spit-fire and laugh-laugh-laugh. I can't leave out Yiannis best friend of all his rescue dog Izzy who brought him great joy, love and companionship.
Yianni was a thoughtful, kind-hearted, intelligent, sarcastic, frustrating, stubborn, funny, loving young man whose intentions were almost always to love us all with his gigantic heart. If you knew Yianni you know he was an original and an experience that will never be repeated or matched.
