Wilma Fiske Reed

Wilma Fiske Reed, 93, of West Danby, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the Beechtree Care Center after an extended battle with Alzheimer's disease. Prior to her move to Beechtree, Wilma had been a long time resident of Clare Bridge Cottage in Ithaca.

Wilma was born (8/18/20) and raised in Upton, MA the daughter of the late Fred and Daisy (Phillips) Fiske. She was a graduate of the University of Massachusetts and was employed by the Pfizer Corporation in New York and also as a high school science teacher.

Wilma was a loving wife and mother. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Jack (Andrew J. Reed III), her parents and a sister, Shirley Legg.

Wilma and Jack enjoyed auctions, tag sales and travelling abroad, especially to Turkey.

She is survived by her sons, Jay Reed and wife, Leslie and Fred Reed; a granddaughter, Kim (Reed) Hanrahan and husband, Kevin and great granddaughters, Piper and Presley Hanrahan and a grandson, Jay Reed Jr. She is also survived by her brother, Guy Fiske and his wife, Jackie; several nieces and nephews and her cat, Susie.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the wonderful care Wilma received at Clare Bridge and also at Beechtree. In accordance with her wishes there will be no funeral services. Donations in Wilma's name may be made to the charity of one's choice. Bangs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
