William J. Shippos Jr.

William J. Shippos Jr. age 72, passed away on April 15, 2025, in Van Etten, NY.

William was born in Ithaca and graduated from Ithaca High School, where he was an active student-athlete in football and wrestling, earning the nickname “Broadway.” He was a veteran of the United States Army, and after his service, he attended TC3 for Construction Management. William spent most of his adult life driving tractor-trailers. He was a past member of the Van Etten Fire Department. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed tending to his garden and working in his yard and was a talented cartoonist. William was also a fan of NASCAR, football, and wrestling.

William is survived by his partner Patricia (Pat) Darsie, his brother Richard Shippos, his children Brian (Amy) Shippos, Selene (William) Kuhns, his grandchildren, Caleb and Hailey Kuhns, and his great grandchild Greyson Kuhns and several cousins. William was predeceased by his parents William J. Shippos Sr. and Constance (Kennah) Shippos, his infant brother John Shippos and his son James E. Shippos.

Family and friends are invited to attend graveside services which will be celebrated by Fr. Augustine Chumo on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 10 am at the Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
