William Howard Johnston

William H. Johnston, age 88 of Newfield, NY went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, May 6, 2022.

Born May 21, 1933 in Albany, NY he was the son of the late Howard and Elizabeth Johnston and husband of the late Roseanna Kouf Johnston. A US Army veteran, he was a Hydrologic Engineering Technician with the US Geological Survey in Ithaca prior to retirement. He and his late wife taught music and dance to hundreds of area children throughout the years. He loved music and was playing various instruments in area bands right up until very recently. His Tabernacle Church and mission work was another passion that gave him great joy. In retirement he also worked for FoodNet of Tompkins County.

William is survived by his son, Kearney (Annie) Johnston of Newfield, NY; his daughter, Georgetta “Gigi” Johnston a traveling missionary; grandchildren, Dustin, Alexander and Jessica; brother, Graham (Joanne) Johnston of Boonville, NY and niece, Julianna Johnston-Ahlen.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm, Saturday, May 14, 2022 at His Tabernacle Ithaca.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to His Tabernacle - Ithaca Campus, William Johnston Legacy, 609 W Clinton St., Ithaca, NY 14850.
