Virginia Marie (Ebel) Pakkala

Virginia Marie Ebel Pakkala, age 65 of Newfield, died Monday morning, December 2, 2024, while at Cayuga Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was a strong and courageous woman battling with Multiple Myeloma over the past several years, but never losing her optimistic and motivating spirit. Virginia was born in Ithaca, the daughter of the late Joseph & Donna Ebel. Virginia will always be remembered for being a wonderful and caring, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many.

She excelled as a passionate gardener and loved nature. She enjoyed music, treasured moments with her family, and was a playful and loving grandmother who adored seeing her grandsons grow up and play sports. Her heart was open to community members in need, and she found great joy in helping others. To so many, she was such a kind-hearted and caring friend, who was always there for them. Virginia is survived by her two sons, Jevon (Kortney) Pakkala, and Tristan “Leif” Pakkala, and four grandchildren, Declin, Everett, Rowan, and Chance Pakkala.  She is predeceased by her husband, Steven M. Pakkala. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and strength that will continue to inspire us all.

Funeral Services will be held at Bangs Funeral Home on December 17th. Calling hours will begin at 11 AM with funeral service to follow at 12 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Newfield Kitchen Cupboard, 227 Main St, Newfield NY 14867.
