Vincent Aiosa, Jr.

December 26, 1938 — January 7, 2021

Vincent Aiosa Jr., 82, of Newfield, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 7,2021 at the home of his son, Jeff, in Rochester, NY after a courageous 2 year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was predeceased by his parents Vincent Sr, and Margaret Aiosa. He’s survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Evelyn, sister Rosalie Fitzgerald (Bill), daughter Kathy Thomas (Loren), and son Jeffrey (Annette). His Grandchildren are Trisha and Donny (Leah) Thomas, and Chelsea (Jeremy Liss), Katherine (Robert Groff), Zachary, and Michelena Aiosa. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather to his family, and was a caring father-figure to many of his students.

He was a dedicated music teacher at Newfield Central school for 31 years influencing the lives of generations of students, and then supervisor of practice teachers at Ithaca College for another 24 years. He also operated his own photography business for nearly 30 years. Vincent enjoyed participating in the Ithaca Community Band playing trombone and serving as President for two terms. He was active in his local church and the Central New York Walk to Emmaus for many years. His faith was a significant part of his life.

A private family service will be held at the convenience of the family, and then due to the pandemic, a memorial service will be held at a later date. In leu of flowers, donations can be made to the Danby Community Church or the Ithaca Community Band.
