Victor A. Lazar, 98, of Ithaca passed away April 3, 2014. He was born March 23, 1916 to the late Peter and Florence Lazar. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Elaine, who passed away in 2005 and son, Michael who passed away in 1974.
Victor is survived by his son, Philip and wife Gloria as well as their children and grandchildren. He also leaves behind three nieces and a nephew.
Victor served in the United States Navy during WW II where he received his pilot’s license. He was an active member of the Ithaca Kiwanis Club and the Liberty Hyde Bailey Garden Club until three years ago. Victor worked for the USDA at Cornell University until his retirement in 1981.
Per Victor’s wishes there will be no services. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Assoc. or the Tompkins County S.P.C.A. Bangs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
