Vanessa Ng

Vanessa Ng, 51, of Ithaca passed away Friday, March 17, 2023. Vanessa was predeceased by her father, Vincent Ng, and survived by her mother, Stella, and brother, Dallas.

Vanessa was a very private and passionate person. A talented photographer, she especially loved horses and horse racing. Vanessa worked multiple jobs in order to travel around the world, shooting races in the US, Canada, Hong Kong, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and France. She frequently added visits to zoos and wildlife preserves along the way.

At work, Vanessa was dedicated to excellent service and eager to learn new skills. She embraced her blunt and frank communication style, knowing that it came from her Mercury in Sagittarius. But she would also send eloquent, novel-like emails, full of complex sentences and breathless ellipses.

Vanessa is greatly missed by friends and family. She leaves behind a wide swath of friends and colleagues in fields as eclectic as she was: horse racing, photography, online forums, Cornell University Library, and Family Medicine Associates of Ithaca.

A viewing will be held at Bangs Funeral Home, 209 W. Green Street, Ithaca, NY, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28. Burial will follow at East Lawn Cemetery in Ithaca.
