Valentine Bill Benedict

Valentine W. "Bill" Benedict, age 81, son of the late Joseph and Magdalene Benedict, went home to the Lord on Thursday, April 27.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Joseph. Bill was born in Buffalo, NY and was a lifelong resident of Ithaca, NY with his wife Dorothy (Stone).

Bill and his wife worked for and then co-owned T.G. Miller's Sons Paper Company, Inc., a successful business and art supplies store for over forty years. He enjoyed playing cards with "the guys," playing golf, collecting coins, doing crossword puzzles, bowling, vacationing in Cape Cod, and spending time with his seven grandchildren and great-grand son. Survivors: brother, Francis; sisters, Marion, Josephine, and Elizabeth; children, Timothy (Mary Louise), Valorie, Susan (Jim), John (Wendy), Matthew; grandchildren Catherine (Chris), Anne Marie (Ian), Cory (Megan), Mollie, Meghan, Kara, and Ryan; great-grand son (and best friend), Connor; and cats Louie, Oscar, and Pearl.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, May 2 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Bangs Funeral Home, 209 W. Green St. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, May 3 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
