Tony Chiesa, 82, of Bundy Road, Ithaca, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the Cayuga Medical Center.
Son of the late Joseph and Ermina Sozzi Chiesa. Tony was a Tool & Dye Machinist with Ithaca Gun and then Cornell University, he was a Veteran of the US Army servicing during the Korean War, a life time member of the V.F.W. Post 961 and the American Legion post 770 where he served on their ritual drill team for many years. Tony was also a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and volunteered with their food pantry program.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Roberta Hart Chiesa; daughters, Linda (Dennis) Rhoads and Diane Chiesa; grandchildren, Matthew and Andrew Rhoads; his brother, Bruno (Patricia) Chiesa and sister, Mary (Tom) Griffith and nieces and nephews
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday March 21, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church with Fr. Jeffrey Tunnicliff officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Friday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Bangs Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the Immaculate Conception Church Food Pantry Program or American Legion Post 770 P.O. Box 456 Trumansburg, NY 14886.
