Thomas Ricciuti

Thomas B. Ricciuti, 53, of Ithaca, New York, died Friday, September 15, 2017 in a car accident. He was born July 24, 1964, son of the late Henry N. and Florence B. Ricciuti.

Thomas graduated from Ithaca High School in 1982, earned an A.B in English from Cornell University in 1988, and attended the master's program in the School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. At various times, Thomas worked at the Ithaca Community Childcare Center and Cornell's Survey Research Institute.

Thomas loved many sports, and always cheered on his favorite teams, including the New York Yankees and the Green Bay Packers. He was an avid fan of Cornell basketball, faithfully attending many games over the years. He loved children, animals, the outdoors (especially Taughannock Falls), and the beach. He was smart, funny, and caring, and will be greatly missed. Thomas is survived by his siblings, James R. (Janet) Ricciuti, Anne E. (Ty Hardaway) Ricciuti, and Mary F. Ricciuti; nephews Michael G. and Paul G. Ricciuti; niece Brennan M. Hardaway, and numerous cousins.

A memorial service will be held on October 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Bangs Funeral Home in Ithaca. Private interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Thomas' memory can be made to the Ithaca Community Childcare Center.
