Thomas J Grant went to be with the Lord on October 6, 2023 with his wife of 65 years, Eileen Gates Grant, by his side. He is pre-deceased by his daughter Lisa and his son Richard. He is survived by his wife Eileen, Son Thomas E. Grant (Margaret), daughter Joby Easley (Jim), and daughter Melinda Moseley (Scott). He was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren with another on the way.
Tom was born in Stanford, CT, the youngest of 5 siblings to Marion and Arthur Grant. He moved to Fabius, NY in his Jr. year of high school and graduated from Fabius High School with many marvelous friends. He then moved to Lansing, NY to work on a large dairy farm where he met and married his wife Eileen. Two years later he went to work at Cornell University Apple Orchard and retired from Cornell after many years working in the poultry department as poultry research laboratory technician.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed many years of family vacations and men's fishing trips with his son and friends at Bob's lake in Ontario, Canada. He had a heart of gold, a no-nonsense attitude and could kick those he loved in the pants to get back up and keep going. He was there to help family and friends even before they knew they needed the help. He will be greatly missed but all are comforted to know that he is at peace.
Service will be held on Friday, October 13 at 3:00 at His Tabernacle Family Church located at 609 W. Clinton St. Ithaca, NY at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Parkinson's research can be made at https://parkinsonhope.org/.
