Shirley Lippincott of Brooktondale, New York passed away at home on July 4th, 2012 at the age of 81. Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Ross and Mary (Caveney) Alexander. Shirley is survived by her devoted and caring husband of 62 years, Gerald Lippincott, her loving children, Richard (Deborah) Lippincott, Gayle Lippincott, Susan (William) Gardner Jr., Jerene (Bruce) Murray, David (Cheryl) Lippincott; 15 adoring grandchildren, Bryon Lippincott, Michelle Nash, Eric Lippincott, Douglas English, Jr, Daniel Dean, Jr, Marceine Lippincott, Jennifer Coppage, Sarah Hall, Matthew Gardner, Samuel Murray, Christopher Murray, Joshua Lippincott, Jeremy Lippincott, Sean Chalpan, Shanna Borders, and 15 great-grandchildren that brought much joy to her life, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Shirley retired from Cornell University Alumni Affairs and Development in 1993 after 28 years of service. After retirement Shirley and her husband had a wonderful time traveling around the United States together. A celebration of Shirley's life will be held at the family home, 9 Elm Street, Brooktondale, NY on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 11:30 am - 2:30 pm. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
