Sheri Sexton

Sheri A. (Conklin) Sexton, age 41, of Newfield N.Y. passed into the hands of the Lord, January 9, 2014 after a brief struggle with breast cancer. Sheri was born November 22, 1972 in Warwick NY, the daughter of Marjorie and Howard Conklin of Newfield. She was a graduate of Newfield High School and worked at several printing companies in the Ithaca area. A lifelong sports enthusiast, she promoted that interest in her children.

Survivors include her husband, Brian S. Sexton of Newfield; she was a proud and devoted mother to her daughters Christie and Sarah; brothers, Howard Conklin Jr (Allissa Kline) of Buffalo, NY; Brian Conklin (Amy) of Williamsburg, MA; in-laws Brian D. & Peg Sexton of Enfield, NY; sister-in-law Beverly VanCleef; brothers-in-law Steven Sexton and Patrick (Heather) Sexton; and many nieces and nephews that she adored: Samantha (Brad) Stephens, Lorin Sexton (Greg Fieser), Joseph Judge, Bryant and Parker Sexton, Camden VanCleef, Cameron and Aidan Conklin and Caleb Conklin. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2014 at Bangs Funeral Home, 209 W. Green St., Ithaca, NY. A Christian Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 113 N. Geneva St, Ithaca, NY at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2014. Burial will take place this spring at Woodlawn Cemetery in Newfield, NY at the convenience of the family.
