Sharon Green Wimer passed away unexpectedly on December 3, 2024. She was surrounded by her loving family, including her husband Mark, sons Matthew and Jonathan, twin sister Susan, sister Lori, and mother Beverly. Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Robert Richard Green, who passed away in 2008. She carried forward his legacy of dedication to family and strong work ethic throughout her life. Sharon was known for her unwavering dedication to both her family and her work. A model of consistency and hard work, she maintained the same job for decades, approaching each day with determination and commitment to excellence, even through multiple company changes and challenges. As a mother, Sharon was extraordinary in her ability to support and nurture. She had a special talent for making holidays magical, going above and beyond with thoughtfully wrapped gifts and special traditions. Her sons remember her as someone who was always there to listen, share a story, or offer support and ensuring her children had whatever they needed to pursue their happiness and stability in life. Matthew remembers her embracing his plant-based lifestyle by finding new recipes. Jonathan remembers their time spent together watching movies or tv. Sharon's love extended to animals as well. She crafted blankets to donate to animals in need and found joy in caring for her beloved cat, Tommy Lee. Her nurturing spirit and desire to help others feel comfortable and cared for were evident in everything she did.
Though she could be protective - something her family lovingly referred to as her "helicopter mom" tendencies - it came from a place of deep love and genuine concern for others' wellbeing. Her remarkable resilience was often joked about in the family, who would say that "germs were afraid of her." Sharon's legacy lives on through the values she instilled in her family: hard work, dedication, unconditional support, and the importance of creating joy for others. She passed knowing she was deeply loved, having witnessed her children grow into happy, successful adults.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to either Fountain House Veterinary Clinic in Brooktondale or Stray Haven Humane Society in Waverly. Please note "In Memory of Sharon Wimer" with any donations.
