Trumansburg: Scott Douglas Yennie went to be with the Lord on November 24, 2012 after his long fight with Parkinson's Disease at the age of 53. Scott passed away at home in Trumansburg with his family at his side. Scott was born May 11th, 1959 in St. Paul, MN to Donald and Lois Yennie (both deceased) and later moved to Ithaca. Scott grew up in Cayuga Heights and graduated from Ithaca High School in June of 1978. Scott worked at Ithaca College (Towers Dining) for 16 years and at What's Your Beef for 10 years. Scott married his beautiful wife, Sharon A. Yennie (Lupo), on July 15th, 2000. Sharon lovingly cared for Scott until his death. Scott was on the Track/Field Team at Ithaca High School and won a medal in 1976 for running 1 mile in 4 minutes and 16 seconds (a school record). Scott then went on to running track races, road races, trail runs, and marathons after high school, including but not limited to Skunk Cabbage Run, Niagara Falls Skyline Marathon, Michael A. Padula Run, Phelps 10k Run, and the Orange County Run. In 1999, Scott was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Even though Scott could no longer run due to the effects of Parkinson's, he still participated in many walks, including but not limited to Parkinson's Unity Walk in Central Park, NYC, and the Breast Cancer Walk at I.H.S. in Ithaca. Scott is survived by his wife, Sharon Yennie (Lupo) of Trumansburg; his daughter, Christa Yennie of Auburn; his son, Sean Hallett of Fredonia; his stepson, Eric Lupo and his stepdaughter, Crystal Allen of Trumansburg; his sister, Denise Ulrich (Yennie) and brother-in-law, James Ulrich, both of Middletown, NY; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial for Scott will be held at Bangs Funeral Home, Ithaca, on Wednesday, November 28th, at 11 a.m. Family and friends may call at this time. There will also be a luncheon immediately following the services at Icabod's on Elmira Rd., Ithaca
