Samuel H. Hall, 87, of McGraw House, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Cayuga Medical Center. He was born in Ithaca, son of the late Frank and Lena Foote Hall.
Sam was the retired Quality Control Manager at Cargill where he had worked for over 35 years. He served as a medic with the United States Army during World War II and was the recipient of the Bronze Star. He was a long time member of the VFW Post #961 and the Immaculate Conception Church.
Sam is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Jennie Norville Hall; his sons, Steve (Margy McEntee) Hall of Ithaca and Will (Bob Allen) Hall of Rochester and his grandchildren, Tyler, Paige, Samuel and Jonathan Hall. He is also survived by his sister, Sylvia Freese and nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Sam was also predeceased by his son, James Hall and his daughter in law, Leslie Hall.
Funeral services will be celebrated by Fr. Jeffrey Tunnicliff on Friday, July 5th at 11 a.m. at the Bangs Funeral Home. Burial will military honors will follow at the Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sam's memory may be made to McGraw House, 221 S. Geneva St., Ithaca, NY 14850.
