Lolly (Sally) Bill Gahagan, died Saturday, June 24, 2017 peacefully at home with her family. She lived a full and happy life, raising four children, and doing what she loved...playing in the dirt.
She grew up at Raymond Farms in Lyme, CT where she learned to love the land and run wild and free in bare feet. She attended the Williams School in New London, CT and Kenyon College in Gambier, OH. She moved to Newfield in May of 1978 which remained her home until she died. She married Randolph Fletcher Brown in 1981. Together they opened the Indian Creek Fruit Farm. During this period of her life, agriculture became her lifelong passion. She loved to grow all things, especially flowers. She could always be found at The Farmer's Market with her four children in tow. Her children were her pride and joy, never ceasing to amaze her with their accomplishments.
She is survived by her husband, Chester Whitlock; her children, Jessica A. Brown (Thomas Pastuszak), Katie M. Brown, James R. Brown (Erin Blanchard), and Randolph F. Brown IV (Carrie Mae Brown); her grandchildren, Jackson Blanchard Brown, Emma James Brown and Walter Gibson Pastuszak. She is also survived by her brother, Frederick B. Gahagan (Mary Lou Gahagan) and sister, Caroline Gahagan; her nephews, Benjamin I. Gahagan (Trish Gahagan) and William G. Gahagan (Lizzie Gahagan) and her niece, Gwyn Gahagan and her children Roland Gahagan and Rosie Gahagan.
Her life epitomized doing good and doing it well. She lived to give unconditional love to all those who shared her life.
