Sabina Ruth Blumkin

Sabina Ruth Blumkin, 88, of Ithaca, NY, passed away on December 21. She was the most devoted wife of Rubin Blumkin, who predeceased her, and loving and beloved mother of Dan Blumkin and his partner Ben Szeto, daughter Joy Blumkin and her husband Lewis Golinker, daughter-in-law Melanie Kalman. Cherished Nana to her grandchildren Josh (Laura), Aaron (Kate), Zack Blumkin (Ariela), Joe and Amy Golinker, and great-grandchildren Dylan, Ollie and Gabriella Blumkin.

She had what she herself always described as a beautiful life. She had a supremely happy childhood, as the only child of Yetta and Louis Hoffman, immigrants from Poland, a seamstress and tailor with meager finances, but an extraordinary capacity to love and be loved. She followed in their footsteps by creating a family life for her husband and children with the same great warmth and affection. As her children became adults, she extended her unconditional love to her children's spouses, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was beloved by family and friends, and all who knew her will miss her forever.
