Ruth L. Whiting, 91, of Ithaca, passed away Saturday March 21, 2015 at the Cayuga Medical Center. Born in Ithaca, daughter of the late William and Ruby Stevens.
Ruth was a beloved mother and friend, she was a life member and former President of the V.F.W. Post 961 Ladies Auxiliary also a very active member of the G.I.A.C. Seniors Program.
Survivors include her daughter and best friend, Donna Whiting of Ithaca, sister: Mabel Carlin of Williamson, NY and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also pre-deceased by her husband: Paul Whiting (1972) and several brothers and sisters.
A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday March 25, 2015 at 12:00 noon at Bangs Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Ford officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 to 12:00 prior to the service. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, in lieu of flowers memorial donations in her memory may be made to the G.I.A.C. Senior Program.
