Russell D. Manley, Sr.

Russell D. Manley Sr. passed away on September 29th, 2022, after a long battle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Audrey Manley, his brothers Bruce Manley Sr. and Chuck Manley and his sister Kathleen Agard. He is survived by his brothers Rolland (Beatrice) Manley and Lawrence Manley. Sister-in-law Rosemary Manley. His son Russell (Robyn) Manley Jr., and his daughter April Manley. Grandchildren Asher, Greyson, Faith and Elsa. As well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Russell was born on December 27th, 1954, in Ithaca NY, he was raised in the town of Danby. He was a bartender for 50 years at many well known establishments in the area (Melody Inn, Lindy’s, Schmidt’s Tavern, The Hideaway and Tradewinds. You may have also seen him enjoying breakfast every morning at the State Diner; on his way to or telling stories about his most recent trip to the casino and how he did playing blackjack or betting on the horses; or at the VFW where he was proud to be a life member.

Family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with a memorial service immediately following on October 7th, 2022 at Bangs Funeral Home, 209 West Green St., Ithaca, NY 14850. Following the services all are invited to a celebration of life at the Ithaca VFW.
