Rosemary Washington

Rosemary Washington 69, of Ithaca, New York peacefully passed away October 20, 2022 at her residence. Rosemary is predeceased by her son Michael T Severtson, her parents Douglas and Theresa Severtson and her brother Michael Severtson. Rosemary is survived by her life partner of 40 years William Ellison, their son Colton T Ellison, William’s children Kyle, Amber and William L Ellison, her sisters, Gloria Severtson, Nancy Meert (Andrew Meert), Annette Severtson, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Rosemary was born August 1,1953 in Ithaca, New York, where she would later raise her two children. Rosemary was a very sweet, loving, selfless person. She dedicated her life to making sure everyone was always taken care of. You could always count on her feeding you a good meal and giving you the feeling everything was going to be okay. Rosemary was known for her contagious smile and making you laugh. It was Rosemary’s strength and good faith that kept her focused on living a normal life after she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, and then later Lung Cancer. Rosemary will be deeply missed by family and friends. Though she will no longer be with us, she will live on in everyone’s memory as Rosie we all loved. Private services for family and close friends will take place at 11:00 am Tuesday October 25th, 2022 at Calvary Cemetery, in Ithaca, New York. Rest in heavenly peace Rosemary, God Bless.
