Rose Zakour, 85, formerly of Bella Vista Drive, died Saturday, July 05, 2014 at the Cayuga Ridge Nursing Facility.
Arrangements are pending.Rose Solomon Zakour, 85 of Ithaca passed away on July 5, 2014 at Cayuga Ridge nursing home surrounded by family and friends.
Rose was born in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania on March 2, 1929 and graduated from Canonsburg High school in 1946. She then entered the work force. Rose worked at Cornell University for 25 years. She also enjoyed traveling and football. Rose saw the pyramids in Egypt on the back of a camel and was caught in a sandstorm on the Nile River. She also attended 2 Super Bowl games.
Rose is survived by her brother Joseph (Bobbie) Solomon of Pittsburgh, Pa., daughter Kristi Jones of Ithaca, a son Ted (Nancy) Zakour of King Ferry, NY. four grandchildren; Tomas, Santos, Nicole Jones, and Sarah Zakour and several nieces and nephews.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents Shafika and John Solomon, her brother David Solomon, and husband Ted Zakour.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday July 10 at 2 pm at the First Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
