Rose Vasse Flacco, 98, of Ithaca, NY peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on June 30, 2018. Rose was born to the late John and Julia Vasse on January 20, 1920.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Joseph and Margot Sorrentino, her grandsons Steven and Jason Sorrentino, nieces Valle Vasse, Shelly Vasse Anderson, Lucy Hinell, Loretta Goss, nephews Gregory Vasse, Nick Flacco, Dominic Flacco, and Mike Flacco.
Along with her parents Rose was predeceased by her husband Dr. Frank Flacco, her brothers Louis and John Vasse and her sister Julia Vasse, sisters in-law Alberta Vasse, Dorothy Vasse and Theresa Flacco. Brothers -in-law Louis Flacco, Dominic Flacco, Angelo Flacco and nephew Dean Flacco.
Rose worked for her husband Dr. Frank Flacco, was a draftsman for Cornell University, worked at Washington Hospital School of Nursing and she was s a translator for the CIC while living in Germany with Frank. Rose was a co-founder of Forest City Realty. She was an accomplished artist, animal lover and avid wildlife supporter. Rose had a passion for life and loved to visit with friends, feed her wild animals, travel and share her many life stories.
The family would like to thank Hospicare, and the wonderful care and quality of life she received from her home healthcare providers Lori Joseph, Patti Ksenak, Cathy Stillwell, Mackenzie Stillwell, Melinda Swazey, Tammi Ferris and Tracey Spencer. You ladies made all the difference.
Funeral services will be celebrated by Sr. Edna Slyck on Thursday, July 05, 2018 at 3 pm at the Bangs Funeral Home. Friends may call prior to the service beginning at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Tompkins County SPCA.
