Ronald Minor

September 13, 1936 — April 7, 2024

Ithaca

Ronald was born on his family farm in Western Pennsylvania in 1936. He moved to Delaware for college and to be employed by Dupont. While in Delaware, Ronald met and married the love of his life, Terry.  They moved to Philadelphia, where Ronald attended University of Pennsylvania's College of Veterinary Medicine obtaining his VMD degree. While Ronald completed his postdoc at the University of Pennsylvania, he taught at University of Pennsylvania’s Medical School and Veterinary School. In 1976, he became a professor of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. He retired from Cornell in 2007, but because of his love for teaching and the Cornell community, he continued teaching for another decade.

Ronald was a proud parent of his four children, Barbara, Janice, Lance and Diane. He loved spending time with his extended family, including his five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He and Terry loved exploring the world by motorcycle. These adventures brought them great joy. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Robert and Samuel.

A memorial service in Ronald’s memory will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in downtown Ithaca on Thursday, April 11 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the University of Pennsylvania’s Student Scholarship Fund or Hospicare of Ithaca.
