Robert T. Lower

Robert T. Lower, 96, of Ithaca, passed away on December 29, 2024, at home. Robert was born on May 27, 1928, to Henry L. Sr. and Beatrice Bowlsby Lower. Robert was predeceased by his wife Hattie Cooper Lower. Robert and Hattie met at a square dance after he returned from serving during WWII. They married on July 8, 1950, and they enjoyed 73 years of marriage.

Robert worked for Morse chain for 42 years until his retirement. He was a college town landlord for many years following retiring. Robert raced cars early in life. Robert enjoyed hunting, family fishing trips to Canada, was an avid gardener. He enjoyed many family gatherings, and spending winters in Florida with his wife.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Robert was predeceased by his Siblings, Henry Jr., William, and Beatrice, his infant child Marion, his son David W. Lower; granddaughter Amanda Marie Lower; daughter in-law Roberta Lower. Survivors include his sister Barbara Lambert, his children; Robert T Jr., Daughter in-law Barbara Lower, Gary H. (Debra) Sr., and Deborah (Raymond) Lower Kalwara; grandchildren, William, Christina (Eric), Tonya, and Gary (Stephanie), Jr., Glen; great-grandchildren: Cole, Brianna, Sierra, Carterann, Cooper, Aiden, and Briggs; great-great grandchildren: Graysen, Violet, Kinsley, and Ethan. Robert is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling Hours will be held at the West Hill Community Church, on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 12-1PM with a service at 1PM, burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Ithaca.
