Manning, Richard R. Jr.
Ithaca: Richard R. Manning Jr., 68, of 322 Nelson Rd., Ithaca, died Friday, June 1, 2012 at the Hospicare Residence. Born in Ithaca on February 15, 1944, he was a son of the late Richard and Mary Cole Manning Sr. Richard retired from the Thomas & Betts Company of Horseheads after 33 years as a machinist. He was an avid fisherman and loved watching drag racing. Survivors include a son, Shawn (Christine) Manning of Trumansburg; granddaughters Sonia and Hailey; a brother, Rodney Manning; sister Maryanne Merithew; also step-children Kim Hubbell, Carmon Farrell and Pixi Lee; and several step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his wife, Janice Manning, on October 4, 2008. Private Graveside Services will be held at the King Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Richard's memory may be made to Hospicare of Tompkins County, 172 E. King Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850. Bangs Funeral Home will be assisting the family.
