Richard E. Haskins Sr., 80, of Spencer Rd., Ithaca, died Thursday, September 21, 2017 at his home. He was born in Ithaca, son of the late Frederick and Pearl E. Sinn Haskins and was also predeceased by his wife, Rosemary Haskins who died in 2013
Richard served with the United States Marine Corps and was retired from Cornell University where he had worked as a woodworker for many years.
Richard is survived by his sons, Richard (Wendy Allen) Haskins Jr. and Edward (Beth Martinez) Haskins; his daughter, Cynthia Maxwell and his grandchildren, Edward II, Nicholas and Emmet Haskins, Evan Miller, Sarah Maxwell and Jessica (Dustyn Bennett) Maxwell
He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday September 25, 2017 at 12 noon at Bangs Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Ford officiating. Friends may call prior to the service beginning at 11 am. Burial with military honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
