Richard (Rick) Cacciotti. Born on October 21, 1955 . Rick died unexpectedly, on January 18th, 2017.Rick will be deeply loved and continuously missed by his wife Kathleen of 32 years, his children Richard (Katie) and Alison (Paul), his grandchildren Stella, August, Waylon, and Ruby; his mother Mary, sister Diane (Dave) and his brother Paul, as well as extended family and loving friends. Rick was known as a Gentle Bear, a brilliant and loving family man, who taught all around him to capture each moment and truly love each to its fullest, to envision what you want and to realize it whole-heartedly; for Rick, nothing less would do. He was a man of great joys, and he was cool... cool, in a way words could never capture. But, those of you who knew him will know, just how very cool he was. Perhaps it was the way he took in Grateful Dead concerts in style with Yeti coolers full of exquisite foods, and top shelf liquor, or the way he always bought extra tickets for camping and Grassroots passes, in case any of his loved one's had forgotten. In a world where family, can mean so many different things... Rick lived for his. A provider, a teacher, a problem solver-extraordinaire. He was most happy at home, with a drink in his hand, watching the joy of his family unfold, over a meal he had crafted just right. His pleasure came from watching it in others, he was always pulling out extra chairs, wondering aloud "will more people come, will it be enough? Let's get more, if you want one, two is better." Not only was he the source of his family's joy, he was the driving force behind family gatherings, entertainment, and fun. Rick was devoted in all he did, and was a man who could get anyone out of a sticky situation, with grace, and a smile on his face. Rick was a man, who filled any room he was in, who made space itself happy. He was a humble man, with a brilliance that was unparalleled; a man who could solve virtually any problem, and then delight in helping whomever, brought the dilemma to him, put his solution in action. He was a man of perfection; "there is no sense in doing something, if you are not going to do it right. "He was a foodie, a cocktail aficionado, a boat Charter Captain, an extraordinary woodworker, mushroom farmer, a live-music enthusiast, a cook like no other, an adventurer, a man who loved big toys, from boats, to wood-working equipment, to motorcycles...oh, the motorcycles. Rick was a "go big, do it the best you can!" kind of man, but unselfish in all things, as each of these things brought him closer to the center of his greatest love, his wife, Kathleen and his family. Rick taught us that if you listened deeply, with a joyful heart that you could hear the sound of the earth smiling. He mastered the art of living well. Family will receive friends and loved ones at Gola Osteria on Tuesday, January 31st, from 4-6. Bangs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
