Ray Lockwood of Newfield died at home on October 23, 2016 after a brief struggle with cancer. He is predeceased by his wife Nancy Lockwood.
Ray was born on June 10, 1951 outside Ithaca, New York. He worked at Titus Towers in Ithaca for twenty-five years maintaining the buildings and facilities there and retired in 2014. While working at the Towers he met his wife Nancy whom he married in 1989. Ray loved animals and farming and often assisted at the Emery family farm in Newfield.
He is survived by two step-children; Christopher Weeks (Cathy) of South Orange, New Jersey and Kathy Weeks Gosa (Terrill), of Sterling, Virginia; by five step- grandchildren, Fernanda and Wendy Weeks and Monica, Jasmine and Marcus Gosa; by brothers-in-law Anthony Carroll (Vickie) and Arthur Carroll (Adele) and their families, of Limerick, Maine, where he and Nancy spent many happy summer vacations. The family would like to thank Bob, Frank and Ronda Emery for their loving support of Ray during his final days.
Calling hours will be held at the Bangs Funeral Home, 209 West Green Street, Ithaca, NY 14850 on Friday, November 25 from 3 to 5 p.m..
