Pheobe (Betty) F. Parr (Moore), 97 formerly of Slaterville Springs, passed away peacefully Sunday with family by her side.
Born, August 20, 1919, Ithaca, NY, daughter of Pheobe J. Moore (Scott) and Victor J. Moore. She
graduated from Ithaca High School in 1937, attended Cornell University (Class of 42) and the Rochester Business Institute before marrying John (Chick) F. Parr Sr. formerly of Queens, NY and Cairo, NY.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, John, of 66 years, in 2008. Survived by her son, John (Betsy) F. Parr Jr., daughters, Penny Boynton, Betsy Walker and Merrilee Parr, Grandchildren, Michelle (Jon) Goldberg, Jennifer (Paul) Mutolo, Pheobe Boynton, Rachel Boynton and Hart Parr DalPra and Great Grandchildren, Sam, Jake, Andrew & Nicholas. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid bowler as well as past president of the Ithaca Women's Bowling Association, enjoyed cooking, needlepoint, sewing, ceramics and traveling.
Family and friends may call 10 AM-Noon on Saturday, at Bangs Funeral Home, 209 West Green Street, Ithaca, NY. Private family services will follow at 12:30 pm. Burial at the East Lawn Cemetery, Ithaca.
