Peter Joseph Malison

Peter Joseph Malison (Mike) passed away on August 5, 2024.  Peter was a lifelong resident of Ithaca NY, as well as a resident and  snowbird of Hudson Fl.
Peter was predeceased by his  wife,  Kathleen Patte Malison in 2000.  His  parents:  Peter Malison in 1959, and Jean Malison Welch in 2004, as well as his beloved sister, Nancy Malison Cox (Bobby)of Las Vegas,  in 2024.
Peter is survived by his children: Daniel Trevits  of Dryden NY, Leslie Anne Trevits Ciaschi (John) of Charlotte NC. Suzanne Trevits Bouchard (Dominique) of Freeville NY , Patricia Trevits Benedict (Daniel) of Charlotte NC , AnnMarie Malison of Pennsylvania Fred, Anne Danvers and family of Fl. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Elle, Casey, Stanley and Emma Trevits, Nicholas Patenaude, Christina Patenaude Ives, Angelina Ciaschi Harkey, John Anthony Ciaschi, Sebastian,Zachary and Andrew Bouchard, Jessica Benedict Barlow, Kathleen Benedict Kenney, Daniel Benedict,  Carissa Stratton Sanchez and Ryan Stratton.
Peter is also survived by his precious great grandchildren: Blake and Julie Patenaude, Judah Trevits, Lilliana and Nolan Harkey, Connor, Carter, and Cole Barlow.

Peter was a member  of the Immaculate Conception Parish, and  attended Immaculate Conception School serving as  an Alter boy at the Parish. Peter graduated from Ithaca High School and won the Amateur Bowling Title in Washington DC.  Peter spent 30 years of service with the City of Ithaca, before retiring. During those years before retiring, he and his wife Kathy invested in and developed a Real Estate Rental Company which he continued until the past few years. Golfing was his passion. A member of The Country Club in Ithaca NY, he had many great friends, and won The Club Championship. Some of his favorite times were spent playing cards  with his  buddies in Ithaca NY and Hudson Fl.
Peter was a member of the Elks Club and had many great times at the Ithaca Lodge.
Peter loved his home in Fl and the many friends he made in the community. The
past few years were spent enjoying the company of his family.

Lastly, and most importantly, he was a good father, maybe not by blood, for all of us.  We called him Mike (which meant Dad to us) in our younger years. Then, Geepop when the grandchildren came along, the name didn’t matter. He was “Our Dad” and he will be missed. To all the friends and family who have not been mentioned here by name who are so dear, thank you .  The family is grateful.  A Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church at 11 am on Saturday August 31st   2024 in Ithaca NY. A private burial will follow.
