Paul Teeter, 67, of Ithaca, NY crossed over to meet his parents on Dec 22, 2022. After being a Service Technician with Advantage Sport and Fitness for nearly twenty years, Paul retired in 2018. Prior, he had been employed at Salino Electric Motors and worked for Century Housewares.
Paul was a 1973 graduate of Ithaca High School and a 1975 graduate of Tompkins Cortland Community College. While at IHS, he was the student lacrosse manager. Paul and his father were huge fans and aides with Cornell varsity lacrosse and hockey, including both men being CU hockey goal judges. Their love for Cornell Sports began when Paul started PeeWee Hockey in 1964 at Lynah Rink. Involvement in these two sports, plus CU Football, remained a lifelong passion of Paul's, providing lasting friendships with coaches and players. Paul was also a big NASCAR fan and rarely missed watching the races on TV occasionally traveling to watch them in person. As a young adult, he and his friend Marty raced stockcars at CNY area dirt tracks. His prized possession was his beloved 1971 blue Camaro Z-28. Paul was also an amazing Artist of colored pencil drawings and a designer of a few special logos for family and friends. Receiving one of his framed cartoon sketches was always a special gift.
He is survived by his sister, Gracie (Teeter) Schell (partner, Karl Wuerslin); his favorite nieces , Erika Schell, and Gretchen (Schell) DiNardo (Mike); his best friends, Jim Rohan Jr., Chris Beaver, and Jim Fowler; cousins Brian Lent and Rusty Lent, his former wife, Rose Cochran-Teeter, their two dogs Meadow and Cotee: along with numerous other relatives and friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Amandus (Mike "Teets") and Grace (Bartlett) Teeter. While never having children of his own, he was an adoring uncle who was affectionately referred to as “Unkie” by his nieces.
Paul was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at age twelve. Recently, he began experiencing more complex health challenges related to his diabetes which required him to be hospitalized. After nine days of hospitalization, he succumbed to the disease at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by the company of his loved ones. His family would like to extend heartfelt thanks for the thoughtful care he received while there and to all his healthcare providers throughout the years.
