Otha "Chip" Dickerson

Otha Leroy "Chip" Dickerson, 61, of 356 Poole Circle Road Newfield, NY died Tuesday November 3, 2015 at Hospicare. Chip was born November 22, 1953 in Charleston, WV to Otha Leroy Dickerson Sr. and Catherine Landry Dickerson
He graduated from Ithaca High School and attended Hampton University. Chip lived in Oklahoma for many years where he was employed as a machinist and also had landscaping and janitorial businesses. He last worked at Cornell University.
Chip is survived by his brothers: Michael (Patricia) and Paul Dickerson, and sisters: Barbara Murapa and Susan Dickerson of Ithaca, Evelyn Smith (Beuford) of Brooklyn and Celeste Dickerson of Washington, DC. He is also survived by his beloved Aunt, Christine Dickerson, and his uncle Richard Dickerson both of Charleston WV< many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews and his former wife Marilyn Dickerson, and step-son, Clarence.
At his request , no funeral or public service will be held. The family will have a private memorial service at a future date. The family wishes to thank Hospicare staff for the wonderful care give to chip. In lieu of flowers , donations in Chip's memory may be made Hospicare 172 E Kind Rd. Ithaca, NY 14850. Bangs Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
