Norman R. Jordan, Jr.

June 11, 1960 — June 8, 2018

Norman R. Jordan, Jr., age 57, passed away at The Nina K. Miller Hospicare Center Residence in Ithaca, NY due to liver complications resulting from hereditary hemochromatosis that he fought for the last few years of his life.

Norm was predeceased by his father Norman R. Jordan, Sr. In addition to his mother Dorothy Jordan of Ithaca, he is survived by his siblings Cindee Jordan Sladich (Robert) of Ithaca, Richard Jordan (Karen) of Mechanville, New York, Michael Jordan (Paula) of Clifton Park, New York and Patrick Jordan (Debbie) of Ithaca. He is also survived by his former wife Allison Jordan of Rochester, New York, his children, Stephanie MacDonald (Owen) of Rochester New York, Jennifer Blake (Jordan) of Yuma, Arizona and Mackenzie Jordan of Indianapolis, Indiana, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and so many beloved friends.

Norm graduated from Ithaca High School in 1978 as a student athlete having played football and track. He went on to join his brothers Rick and Mike at Ithaca College where he played for the Ithaca Bombers Football team going on to win the NCAA Division III Football Championship in December 1979 in Phenix City, Alabama. The 1979 Football Team along with the former coach Jim Butterfield were inducted into the Ithaca College Athletic Hall of Fame in October 2014. The team had captured the school’s first-ever national championship. Norm then graduated from Ithaca College with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration in May 1982. His business career led him to various sales positions ending with his most recent venture as Group President & Managing Director - Mergers and Acquisitions at CSC Capital.

Norm was honored to have been nominated to the Ithaca College Alumni Association Board of Directors, School of . Business, where he offered his time and expertise serving terms ending in 2016. He loved staying connected to IC and other alumni. His favorite pastime was being an enthusiastic fan of sports on high school, college and professional levels. Norm was a diehard Bomber fan following all Ithaca College sports, especially Bomber football. It was his pleasure and honor to be coached under Jim Butterfield and he will forever be part of the Bomber family. He will be remembered as being an outgoing, talkative, kind individual that loved his family and many friends. He was especially proud of his three beautiful, successful daughters.

In keeping with Norm’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held at the convenience of his immediate family at a date to be determined. Bangs Funeral Home will be assisting the family. At a later date a celebration of his life will be announced by his family.
