Nora P. Nazer

Nora P. Nazer, 97, passed away on Thursday January 26, 2023, at the Hospice Resident Center in Ithaca. She was born December 21, 1925, to the late James and Marie Powers.

A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she was married to her husband, the late Alfred P. Nazer for 71 years. Nora is survived by her sons, Paul (Toni) Nazer, David (Corky) Nazer and Terry (Diane) Nazer; her grandsons Michael (Janice) Nazer and Christopher (Claire) Nazer; and her great granddaughter: Hannah Nazer. Nora is also survived by her sisters, Molly Davenport and Peggy Lohmeyer. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her daughter Nancy Nazer and brother Richard Powers.

Nora was a great mom who enjoyed baking, quilting, and knitting. She hand quilted over twenty quilts which she gave to family and friends. She also kept her family in a supply of hand knitted sweaters. Nora had previously worked for GLF, and retired after working 25 years for Dr. Ruben Weiner, as a medical assistant.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Augustine Chumo on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at 11:00AM at the Saint Catherine of Siena Church, located on Blackstone Ave. in Ithaca. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the mass, beginning at 10:00AM. Internment in the Queen of Peace Mausoleum will be private. Donations in Nora’s memory may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church or Hospice of Ithaca.
