Mildred M. (Milly) Pluck

Mildred M. Pluck, 87, passed away on September 26, 2013 from complications due to a fall. She was born May 5, 1926, the daughter of Bertha and Silas Gaylord Veit.

Mildred is survived by her husband of 67 years, Lewis S. Pluck (Ithaca); her son and his wife, Ronald Pluck and Jean Pluck (Ithaca)and her two daughters, and their husbands, Dawn and Jerry Wolff (Florida) and Tami and Thomas Tabone (Cortland). She is grandmother to six grandchildren, Jason and Carrie Pluck, Jerry Jr. amd Travis Wolff, and Kem and Alexis Tabone. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Marilyn Veit and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her four siblings, Charles Veit, Gaylord Veit, Virginia Veit and George Veit.

Mildred was a day care provider for many years, nurturing a number of children and she also took in laundry as a side business. She was involved with the Neighborhood Watch Program for several years. She was a loving wife and mother and dear friend and neighbor to many and will be lovingly missed.

A celebration of Mildred's life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 3:30 pm at the Bangs Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be directed to the SPCA.
