Melvin A. Berggren

Melvin A. Berggren, age 70 of Newfield, NY passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Beechtree Care Center.

Born September 3, 1951 in Ithaca, NY he was the son of the late Roy and Patricia Stenger Berggren. He was a graduate of Newfield High School and was a truck driver, with various companies, for many years.

Melvin is survived by two brothers, Richard (June) Berggren and William (Diane) Berggren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Mary Novak Berggren and brothers, Charlie and Roland Berggren.

Family and friends are invited to call from 2-3 pm on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Bangs Funeral Home, 209 W. Green St., Ithaca, NY. A graveside service will follow at 3:30 pm in Woodlawn Cemetery, Newfield, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of one’s choice.
