Matthew Gitlin

Matthew Gitlin, 46 of Ithaca NY, passed away October 2, 2024. Matthew was a kind, gentle soul who was happiest playing poker, bowling or cheering on his beloved New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills. He also dutifully kept friends and family abreast on the latest happenings on the Law & Order TV show. Matthew was born in 1977 in Ithaca, NY. He was raised in Rochester, NY, graduating from Wilson Magnet High School in 1995. Matthew served many roles during a 20-year career in the grocery industry, most recently as a meat department manager at Shop Rite in Rochester. Matthew is survived by his mother Mary, brothers David and Aidan, and family friend Lisa. A memorial service will be hosted at Ithaca's St. John's Episcopal Church Oct. 22 at 11 a.m.
