Mary E. Vanetten

MARY VANETTEN

Passed away at age 78 at the Groton Nursing Facility where she has resided for the last 8 years. She was born in Ithaca, N.Y. as Mary Elizabeth Manning.



Mary spent most of her childhood in Brooktondale N.Y. with her Mother, Brother (Larry), and Sister (Shirley).



She Graduated from Ithaca High School.



Mary also lived some of her adult life in Brooktondale where she babysat many of the children in the community, including some of the children of childhood friends who still lived there.



Mary spent several years working at the Reconstruction Home in Ithaca, where she took care of many people as an aide, and made several long lasting friendships.



She is (Pre-Deceased) by:



Father (Richard Manning) of Ithaca N.Y.

Mother (Frances Beach), Step Father (Claude Beach), Brother (Larry Beach) all of Brooktondale, N.Y.

Sons (Roger (Chippy) VanEtten Jr.), and (Gerald (Pete) VanEtten).



She is survived by:



Daughter Gina Banfield (Eric) and their children (Tyler & Jordyn)

Sons Douglas VanEtten (Sharon) and Dale VanEtten

Her son Pete's children (Tonya, Tabatha & Trinity)

Daughter-in-Law Linda Maybie

Sister Shirley Buckland (Jerry)

Her Niece Dawn Gonzalez (Daniel) and their children (Alexandria, Antonio & Armando)

Her Nephew Donald Norman (Jackie)



We would like to give a special thanks to her second family made up of all the wonderful people who cared for all of her needs during her stay at the Groton Nursing Facility along with Cortland Hospice for the care and friendship that they gave Mary during the last ten months of her life.



There will be a Gravesite Service at The Woodlawn Cemetery, in Newfield on May 1, 2017 at 11:00AM.
