Mary Elizabeth Ostrom

Marybeth Ostrom passed away on December 18 with her family by her side. Her parents were John Henry Weaver & Florence Dunne Weaver, from Yonkers, NY. Marybeth was the wife of the late John (Jack) Ostrom. She is survived by four children, Katherine Nollner from Duxbury, MA, Janet Loranger from Warren. PA, John Ostrom and his wife Cindy from Forestdale, MA and Don Ostrom and his wife Dee from Glens Falls, NY. Marybeth had 10 grandchildren and 2 great- grand children. She graduated from Cornell University with a BS & MS in Human Ecology Nutrition. She was a Dietitian and worked in Ithaca, NY for the Nutrition for the Elderly Program. She also volunteered at Loaves & Fishes and the Kitchen Cupboard. She was on the College of Human Ecology Alumni Board, Senior Citizens Council board, Advisory Board of the Housing Options for Seniors Today, Human Services Coalition Review Committee, and Health Planning Council. She also served on the Class of '51 reunion committee. What was most important to Marybeth was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Although miles apart, she often traveled to watch her grandchildren's various sporting events and other activities. A mother is a very special person and even though Marybeth will be with us in spirit, we will truly miss our mom.
