Mary Fowler Curtiss of 226 Savage Farm Drive died at the age of 94 at Kendal at Ithaca on December 1, 2013.
Mary was born on December 19, 1918 in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended and graduated from Tower Hill School in Wilmington, Delaware where her father was Headmaster. She received her undergraduate degree from Vassar College and her masters degree from Syracuse University. She served as Dean of Students at Beaver College in Beaver, Pennsylvania.
Mary Curtiss was active in the Ithaca and Kendal at Ithaca community. She was also an active member of The First Presbyterian Church of Ithaca.
She was predeceased by her husband of sixty years, W. David Curtiss. She is survived by her children David F. Curtiss of Coatesville, PA and Melissa Alario of Ithaca, NY, and her grandchildren Joanna, Sean, Christina, Alex, and Austin.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 7th at 2:00pm in the auditorium at Kendal at Ithaca. A graveside service for the family will be held in the Sodus Rural Cemetery, Sodus, NY later in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the W. David Curtiss Scholarship, Cornell Law School; to the Rainy Day Fund at Kendal at Ithaca; or to a charity of your choice
