Marjorie C. Hagin

December 17, 1919 — November 9, 2015

Marjorie C. Hagin, 95, of Trumansburg, formerly of Ithaca passed away Monday, November 9, 2015 at the Seneca View SNF, Montour Falls, NY surrounded by family. Marge was the loving daughter of Clarence and Margaret (Hester) Copeland, born December 17, 1919

Marge lived most of her life in the Ithaca area. She was born and raised on South Hill (Hillview
Place), graduated from Immaculate Conception School (1934) and Ithaca High School (1938).
She married the "Not if you were the last man on earth" and high school sweetheart George E.
Hagin August 30, 1941. They were married 57 years, before George's death on April 3, 1998.
She worked at GLF for a short period before raising her four children. Later she worked at
Cornell University in the Registrars Of?ce for 14 years before retiring in 1982. She was a
member of the Catholic Daughters of America for 40 years. Marge and George were founding
members of St. Catherine of Siena Parish (1960), and did many fund raising events to support
it's success.
Family, and especially family get togethers were the center piece of many of those 95 precious
years. Holidays, birthdays, picnics, popcorn ball making, Easter Egg hunts or just simple
unexpected visits where the highlights of many a year. Her virtuous laughter and sincere smile
will be forever missed.

She is survived by three sons, G. Thomas (Betty) Hagin of King Ferry, Robert C. (Jo-An) Hagin
of Ithaca, Michael J. (Cindy) Hagin of Trumansburg; daughter Margy (Charles) Dillon of Questa,
NM. She is survived by 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her sister Jeanne Johnson of Carmel Valley, CA. She also leaves behind
many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband and great-grandson Chase Bowen of Taylors,
SC.

In lieu of fowers, please consider a donation to St Catherine of Siena Parish, 302 St. Catherine
Circle, Ithaca, NY for the new parish center.
Calling hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13 at Bangs Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at 11:00
a.m. at St Catherine of Siena Church on Saturday, Nov. 14. offciated by Father Joseph
Marcoux. Private interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery at a future date.
The family would like to thank the staff at Seneca View SNF for ALL their loving attention and
care.
