Marilyn C. Collins

Marilyn C. Collins, 89, a former resident of McGraw House, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at Oak Hill Manor. She was born on April 7, 1928 in Albany, NY, the only daughter of John W. and Catherine Albert.

Marilyn was a 1945 graduate of Holy Name High School and attended Rose College in Albany. After raising her three children on the shore of Cayuga Lake she returned to college and graduated from Cortland State in 1970. She retired from Immaculate Conception School where she had taught from 1971 to 1991.

Marilyn is survived by her children, David (Debbie) Collins of Newfield, Richard (Linda) Collins of Chapel Hill, NC and Kathe (Peter) Kaufman of Durham, NC; her grandchildren, Michael (Ann), D.J. (Ginger) and Nina and great grandchildren, Kian, Marcus, Nathan and Naomi. She was predeceased by her grandson, Kevin and her former husband, Reginald.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Donations in Marilyn's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice. Bangs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
