Marilyn Allen, 63, of Farrell Rd., passed away at home on Tuesday, October 01, 2013. She was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, daughter of the late Angus and Loretta Canning Allen.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Jeff Klein; her sisters, Susan Allen (Tony Rossi), Lauren Allen (Gary Miller) and Karen Allen-Curran (Chuck) and her brother, Brian Allen (Kathleen) and her nieces.
Marilyn had been associated with her husband, Jeff, with the NAPA Auto Parts store on West State St. for many years. She was a very active member of the Appaloosa Horse Club and had traveled extensively to shows and had won many World and National Championships culminating in the Non-Pro Supreme Championships. She loved to travel and was always the life of the party. She had a gift for making those around her comfortable no matter what the situation and whenever given the choice to sit it out or dance, Marilyn danced.
Friends may call on Sunday, October 6th from 2 to 4 pm at the Bangs Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Marilyn are encouraged to consider Hospicare of Tompkins County or the SPCA.
