Marilyn Aigen

August 29, 1926 — November 17, 2024

Marilyn Aigen, 98, passed away peacefully in the early hours of November 17, 2024 in Ithaca, NY. She was the beloved matriarch of our family with a rich history, an ongoing quest for learning, and dedicated to living life to its fullest. As an avid reader, she belonged to 3 book groups until recently. Her sharp mind, youthful outlook and wit kept all of us on our toes. Her zest for life knew no bounds. As a young 90 year old she took up belly dancing classes. She participated in Yoga, Tai Chi, Creative Writing, art and exercise classes up until recently. A lover of art and all things beautiful, she generously shared her collections with her children and grandchildren. Family was the center of her universe; she kept us all connected.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Aigen and son, Rabbi Ron Aigen.

She is survived by children: Michael (Rachel) Aigen, Linda (David Weiner) Aigen, Suzanne Aigen and daughter-in-law, Carmela Aigen; grandchildren: Razielle (Serge), Nadav(Jen), and Gila Aigen, Sam (Shaked) Aigen, Alegria (Matt) Cohen, Ted (Taryn) Schwartz, Tom (Taylor) Schwartz, Nadine Aigen, Dan (Meg) Kelley, Rachael Weiner, Meredith (Matt Cooper) Weiner; and great grandchildren: Mila, Calvin, Liam, Maisy, Aiden, Asher, Emmett, Elliot, Gus, Yaari, Elly, Ari and Madeleine.
