Marian Riker Howard, 95, of E. King Rd., died Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the Cayuga Medical Center.
Arrangements are pending.Marian J. Howard, 95, of E. King Rd., died Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the Cayuga Medical Center. She was born Ithaca, daughter of the late Charles and Frances Ryerson Riker and was the widow of Delbert Howard, Sr.
Marian worked at Singer Sewing Company for many years and taught many adults and children how to sew. She was an avid Yankees fan, enjoyed reading, gardening and loved living at home. She passed her driving test at the age of 65, the third time being the charm.
Marian is survived by her sons, Charles (Donna) Howard, Delbert Howard, Jr. and Neal (Pat) Howard; her grandchildren, Cindy (Scott) Meddaugh, Charles Howard, Jr., Carmel (Joe) Macali, Colin (Jody) Howard, Paige Howard, Tracy (Dan) Lorenzini, Alicia (Mike) Howard Turner and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her brothers, Donald and Robert Riker and sister, Doris Riker Knettles.
Private graveside services will be held at South Hill Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 2507 James St., Suite 106, Syracuse, NY 13206. Arrangements are by the Bangs Funeral Home.
