Marian I. Beardslee

Marian I. Beardslee, a much loved great grandmother, grandmother, mother, daughter and sister, Marian Beardslee, 91, of Newfield, NY, passed away peacefully at her home on March 4, 2025 of natural causes. She was born November 5th, 1933 in Interlaken, NY. She spent the majority of her life residing in Newfield, NY.

Marian’s greatest joy in life was her family. She had the unique ability to make people laugh and always had a smile on her face. She truly enjoyed having her family around her. Her hobbies included cooking and gardening and taking care of the pets in her life, especially her beloved dog Charlie. Marian will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Marian is survived by her daughters, Vicki Simmons of Jonesborough, TN, Kimberlee Gatch (Paul) of Newfield, NY and Bonnie Ragsdale (Mike) of Ashburn, Va., her daughter-in-law, Kelly Simmons of Palm Bay, FL., her sister Gayle Hadley of Round Rock, TX., fourteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband “Red” Beardslee, her parents Harold and Grace Hand, her brother Donald Hand, her sister Gloria Mcquilkin, her brother Joe Hand, her daughter Valerie Meeker and her son Jim Simmons.

The family requests instead of sending flowers that a donation be made to a local Humane Society in honor of Marian.
